We consider the conditions for the r process to proceed when a shock wave passes through the helium shell of a collapsing Type II supernova of mass 10-15 M_solar. We analyze the effect of reactions with protons and alpha-particles on the r process when the helium shell is irradiated by a neutrino flux and when the parametrically specified post-shock temperature increases. The sources of neutrons and protons are the reactions of inelastic scattering of muon and tau neutrinos and antineutrinos by helium nuclei which have been previously discussed in detail.
