The structure of the north-east part of the Cygnus Loop in the Fe X and Fe XIV coronal lines is compared with X-ray maps. The intensity variations in the Fe X line exclude a simple Sedov solution. Emission from the transition medium around evaporating cool clouds associated with the optical filaments can explain the Fe X profile. More realistic models are considered.
