Observations of the He I 10829-30 Å lines in the compact H II regions W3-IRS1, G45.13+0.14, and W51-IRS2 are presented. Extinction curves for each object are derived by comparing the He I 10829-30 Å line fluxes with those of other lines in the 2 - 4 μm range and with radio continuum measurements. A map of G45 in the He I 10830 Å line shows that the He+ and H+ emitting volumes are essentially equal.
