Large regions of galactic spiral arms toward the second quadrant have been mapped in 13CO with the Bordeaux telescope. These regions correspond to large molecular complexes in the Perseus arm and smaller molecular clouds in the Orion arm. Comparisons of the 13CO data with CO observations show that, on average, the 13CO line is optically thin. This allows a better definition of clouds in the 13CO line. About 300 clouds were statistically studied having masses ranging from 10 to 2×105 M_sun;. Power-law mass spectra were derived according to two definitions of clouds based on spatial and velocity correlations. Power-law indices were found between -1.45 and -1.60, indicating that the ensemble of clouds is dominated by large complexes.
