We study parametric decays of a large amplitude electromagnetic wave in an electron-positron plasma. In the absence of an external magnetic field, this is done for linear and circular polarization. It is shown that in both cases there are parametric instabilities of the decay type, beat-wave instabilities, and modulational instabilities. We also include damping effects on the electroacustic pseudomodes for circular polarization.
