Time-resolved photometric observations of the classical novae DO Aquilae and V849 Ophiuchi have been obtained using the Mount Laguna Observatory CCD photometer. The data reveal that both systems are eclipsing. A total of six eclipses were obtained for DO Aql and four for V849 Oph, allowing us to determine orbital periods of 0.167762 (4) and 0. 172755 (3) d, respectively. The eclipse profiles of both systems are asymmetric and are relatively shallow: about 0.5 mag in the case of DO Aql and about 1 mag for V849 Oph. The shallow DO Aql eclipse suggests that the white dwarf and the inner disk are never occulted. Interestingly, the eclipse profiles of both systems show broad and shallow depressions or 'dips' immediately preceding eclipse. The phasing of these depressions suggests obscuration of the central region of the disk by a thickened disk rim in the vicinity of the bright spot, or by stream overshoot, or both.
