We have fulfilled a detailed investigation of the temporal variation of the velocity distribution function and mass spectrum for the system of molecular clouds in a disk galaxy. The collisional scheme for gas clouds and a concept of giant molecular clouds growth through consequent coalescences are used. It is shown by means of a simple qualitative analysis that the dissipational nature of the colliding molecular cloud system does not lead automatically to the conclusion about cooling of the clouds ensemble with time. This inference is confirmed then by direct numerical simulations of the molecular clouds ensemble evolution. It is demonstrated that for some regimes of coagulation the velocity dispersion of clouds being initially constant for the whole mass interval conserves its independence on cloud's mass on a time scale comparable with several rotational periods of a galaxy.
