Shock waves can be produced in the earth's atmosphere and near vacuum of cosmic space as 'collision' and collisionless' shock events, respectively. Collision shocks have been recognized when particles of a neutral gas (i.e. atoms and molecules) in the earth's atmosphere collide to form shocks. On the other hand, collisionless shocks can occur when the 'plasma' from the sun (i.e. electrically 'charged particles') encounters the earth's magnetic field. Thus shock waves are considered to play a significant role even in space environments. The purposes of this study are to elucidate the evidences of collision and collisionless shock events, and to estimate the shock pressure of the collision shock.
