The pulsar polar cap geometry is analyzed using data available in literature. It is concluded that when Rankin's data (1990) are compensated for the ellipticity of the polar cap, the revised distribution of magnetic inclination angles is consistent with a random orientation of the magnetic and rotation axes. If pulsar magnetic and rotation axes align (or counteralign) with time, the period dependence for pulsars with orthogonal magnetic geometries is different from that of pulsars with aligned geometries. The width-period dependences determined from the measured pulsar periods and inclination angles imply that neither pure alignment nor pure counteralignment occur. It is suggested that the limiting corotation radius of pulsar magnetospheres varies linearly with pulsar period.
