The HCN J = 1 - 0 line emission in the region around the H2O maser source S76E demonstrates unusual ratios of the intensities of the hfs components: the F = 1 - 1 component is much stronger than the main F = 2 - 1 component and the other satellite component F = 0 - 1. The most plausible explanation of this anomaly is the shielding of the core emission by a large amount of blue-shifted low density cold molecular gas on the line of sight.
