Integral: Optical Monitoring Camera
Scientific paper
The Optical Monitoring Camera (OMC) is one of four scientific experiments onboard the INTEGRAL satellite. We describe and explain the OMC observing modes, the object selection strategy and corresponding software developed at the Astronomical Institute Ondrejov (AIO). The program package developed will use the pointing information of the INTEGRAL instruments, as well as the INTEGRAL OMC catalogue for the selection of astrophysical as well as calibration (astrometric, photometric) sources for data transfer to the ground and further scientific analyses.
