Nonthermal particles acceleration and interactions with interstellar matter are discussed with special emphasis on the supernova remnants interacting with molecular clouds, superbubbles created by massive star-formation regions and high-velocity clouds. Multiwavelength spectra of extended and compact sources are used to constrain the nonthermal particle generation models and hard emission spectra resulting from interactions of energetic particles with interstellar matter. Special attention is paid to the CR-ISM interaction regions that can be observed with INTEGRAL.
