The origin of the high energy spectra from BHC is discussed. The evidences indicate that in the hard state, hot gas cools down via thermal Comptonization, while in the soft state, a non negligible role is probably played by non thermal particles. The geometry of the cooling gas is more controversial. Homogeneous corona, patchy hot structure, inner hot disk, have been all proposed to account for the observed spectral properties, and pros and cons of these model are discussed.
