In the experiments described, the structure of the near wake behind a
metallic sphere situated in a supersonic nonisothermal low-density
plasma stream was studied under laboratory conditions. The results are
plotted and are compared with the numerical solutions obtained by Liu
and Jew (1968) and by Gurevich et al. (1969).
