The magnetic field structure of the Earth's magnetosphere and its boundary (the magnetopause) is calculated with the conformal mapping method. According to this method the solution is restricted to two dimensions, whereby the noon-midnight meridian plane is taken into consideration. Two boundary conditions define the potential problem which is determined in total self consistence. The normal component of the total magnetic field vanishes at the magnetopause and the kinetic plasma pressure of the solar wind balances the magnetic pressure. The configuration of the magnetopause and the magnetospheric field line structure is represented. The shape of the boundary is compared with other magnetopause models indicating a remarkable agreement.
