The paper surveys monochromatic photographs of NGC 5128 (Cen A) obtained through the use of narrow band interference filters. The central wavelengths of the seven filters between 3750 and 6945 A were placed on or between the forbidden emission lines of O II, O III, N II and H-alpha. Twenty nine new emission nebulae were identified and strong emission in the H-alpha plus forbidden N II feature was observed while the forbidden O III lines were found to be comparatively weak. In addition some emission nebula surround very luminous blue objects. It is concluded that if these objects are single O or B stars their brightness must be of an absolute photographic magnitude of about -9
