Pulsar wind nebulae are believed to be powered by the loss of rotational energy of the central neutron star. In this talk, I discuss a simple model for the evolution of a pulsar wind nebula inside a supernova remnant, and discuss how the properties of the pulsar wind nebula can be used to infer the properties of the progenitor supernova and central neutron star.
