Presented here are the results of chemical compositions analyses of red giant stars in globular cluster NGC 5466, a cluster on a very eccentric and highly inclined orbit showing evidence of mass loss (Odinkirchen & Grebel 2003). This cluster's orbital properties places it in a group of clusters exhibiting a planar alignment in the outer halo, possibly indicating an origin via capture or accretion from a satellite system (Yoon & Lee 2002).
Sparse and metal-poor ([Fe/H] -1.9), NGC 5466 exhibits similarities to globular cluster Pal 5, including the possession of tidal tails (Belokurov et al 2006; Grillmair & Johnson 2006). Our preliminary abundances of five stars derived from high resolution spectra include those of the following elements: O, Na, Mg, Si, Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Sr, Y, Ba, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, and Eu. NGC 5466 shows a moderate spread in [Na/Fe] of 0.3 dex, with a mean of -0.3, both of which are significantly lower than those found in Pal 5. Aside from a mild underabundance of [Ni/Fe] of -0.15 dex, the remainder of the abundances show no significant difference from those found in Pal 5, or other more massive clusters of comparable metallicities.
