The ongoing GHOSTS (Galaxy Halos, Outer disks, Star clusters, Thick disks and Substructure) survey is charting the outerbanks of 14 nearby disk galaxies with HST ACS and WFPC2 observations. Probing some 2.5 magnitudes below the tip of the red giant branch, we are able to measure color magnitude diagrams and star counts for the thin disk, thick disk and stellar halo of each galaxy. By inferring age and metallicity distributions for these components we are able to explore their star formation histories and thus study the evolution of the system as a whole. Covering a variety of disk galaxy types, this is the first comprehensive survey of stellar populations in the outskirts of galaxies outside of the Local Group. This talk will report on the survey's current progress and highlight some of our recent findings.
