VERITAS is an array of four 12-m telescopes dedicated to
gamma-ray astronomy in the energy band above 100 GeV. Located near Mt. Hopkins in southern Arizona, VERITAS operated during the 2006-2007 season in 2-, 3-, and 4-telescope observation modes. VERITAS observed IC 443 during 2007, resulting in a strong detection of VHE gamma-ray emission. IC 443 is a shell-type SNR interacting with a molecular cloud and containing a pulsar wind nebula.
In this talk, results from these observations will be discussed in the context of existing multiwavelength data on IC 443.
