We present the first Spitzer/IRAC observations of the variable pre-main sequence star KH 15D. Current models of the system suggest that KH 15D is a binary T Tauri star periodically eclipsed by a circumbinary disk. Our observations were obtained at 18 different epochs in order to constrain the models of the eclipsing disk at mid-IR wavelengths. We also present the IRAC images of a filamentary structure North of the source, first observed by Tokunaga et al. in 2004. The structure appears brightest in the IRAC 4.5 micron band, consistent with the filament being a H2 jet originating from KH 15D. We also found another nebulosity opposite to the filament, having similar IRAC colors, which may represent the sought-after counter-jet that had eluded previous detection.
Support for this work was provided by NASA, through an award issued by JPL/Caltech.
