We present a CO survey of transitional disks around Herbig Ae/Be stars. Transitional disks have minimal NIR excess yet substantial MIR excess indicating that the inner disk is optically thin. These gaps are often interpreted as markers of gas-giant planets. However, other scenarios exist that produce similar spectral energy distributions. Observations of warm gas in the inner disk can break the degeneracy of these scenarios. We will present spectrally resolved ro-vibrational spectra of CO which is a tracer of gas in the inner disk, and discuss what this tell us about the morphology of the spectral energy distribution.
