We discuss properties of MUSE, an optical, wide field, adaptive optics supported integral field spectrograph that is planned to be commissioned as a second generation VLT instrument in 2012. We briefly present the instrument properties, components, and optical layout before concentrating on plans for the data reduction software. The data reduction is going to be run mainly as a non-interactive pipeline at Paranal and at ESO Garching as part of the VLT data flow system. Finally, we discuss possibilities and rough ideas of a visualization tool that might be used for various tasks following the basic data reduction, for MUSE as well as other current and future 3D spectroscopy instruments.
