Thanks to the new generation of integral field units, deep fields of galaxies can now be observed using integral field spectroscopy. The VIMOS integral field unit is particularly suitable for this kind of study thanks to its large field-of-view. We present here the VIMOS interactive pipeline graphical interface (VIPGI), the specially designed VIMOS reduction pipeline. We also introduce new software that looks automatically for emission line sources in the data cubes, called Elise3D (Emission LIne Source Extractor in 3D), which is particularly useful for large field IFU surveys.
