Intended to detect the Epoch of Re-ionization (EOR), the Murchison Wide Field Array (MWA) is an ambitious instrument that will be capable of imaging the sky from 80MHz to 300MHz across a field of view tens of degrees wide with a resolution of a few arc minutes. Many of the scientific drivers for this instrument, including the EOR, require precise knowledge of the polarized foreground sky.
Taking as input a sky image from the real-time calibration system of the MWA, the survey processing pipeline performs the steps required to convert the maps from a distorted instrument frame to a common storage frame. This survey information is an excellent data product in itself, providing an exciting view of the polarized emission of our Galaxy, and a census of compact Galactic and extra-Galactic sources.
