A restricted region in the immediate vicinity of Ori A has been mapped in the 23-12 transition of SO. Spatial-velocity maps indicate the presence of strong velocity gradients throughout the region which, if due to rotation, would require an angular velocity vector perpendicular to that of the enveloping cloud complex. An alternative scenario, whereby the velocity gradients arise from interaction of a high-velocity wind with a nearby molecular cloud, is also explored. Finally, the authors give the results of an SO survey of 11 sources, including eight supernovae shock zones.
