The effects of in situ particle acceleration in a relativistically moving ram-pressure confined radio emitting plasmon (plasmoid) are discussed. Although the inclusion of these effects is found to be insufficient to explain the observation of superluminal events with reasonable values for the acceleration parameters, the situation of intermediate values of beta is improved. Indeed, with values of the acceleration parameters within the ranges proposed by other authors, plasmons with beta as high as 0.6 can be simultaneously observed.
