In light of the results of the study of Pavlovskaia and Suchkov (1978, 1980), it is shown that: (1) the Galaxy has a two-arm grand spiral structure, whose geometry correlates well with 21-cm line data; (2) this structure has a wave nature corresponding to Lin and Shu's (1964) concept of the quasi-stationary waves; and (3) the results of the Pavlovskaia study cited, and those of Mishurov, are in favor of an angular rotation velocity of 20-25 km/sec kps based on Marochnik's (1972) theoretical considerations. This implies that the observed spiral waves of the Galaxy propagate from the center to the periphery, with only the flat component of the Galactic mass participating in the wave motion. The source of the wave energy should then be searched for in the central regions of the Galaxy.
