A spectrophotometric investigation of quasi-stellar object 102 in the catalog of galaxies with UV excess has yielded profiles whose emission line equivalent widths and relative intensities are presented. Object 102 displays a luminosity which is situated between that of Seyfert galaxies and quasars, leading to the conclusion that quasi-stellar objects and Seyfert 1 galaxies may be considered as members of a new class on the basis of their physical characteristics.
