Two white dwarfs that were previously given the spectral type of DC have
been re-examined spectroscopically and photometrically. The first,
G171-27, has been found to have Swan bands of C2, while the second,
G188-27, has weak neutral helium lines and appears to be among the
coolest DB stars yet found.
