Two-color images of the nucleus and surrounding bulge region in M31 have been obtained. Profiles of surface brightness, position angle, and ellipticity as a function of radius along the major axis out to r = 160 arcsec are presented. A simple dynamical model for the bulge is described which reproduces the observed luminosity profile to within 0.01 mag rms over the r range of 0.12-18 arcmin. The corresponding mass-to-light ratio is M/L(B) = 3.2. The pattern of dust in this region is vividly illustrated.
