An inhomogeneous model of a neutron star made of abnormal state neutrons and protons is analyzed. Compared to a homogeneous model, the maximum mass is slightly smaller. From the equation of state, values for the nucleon number density at P = O are found which are greater than the value at which normal neutron stars must consist entirely of abnormal neutrons (including abnormal protons and electrons); they cannot consist of a shell of normal neutrons with a core of abnormal neutrons. Any transformation of a normal neutron star must be global and not local, offering a possible mechanism for an explosive release of energy.
