The author gives a dynamic and spectrophotometric study of NGC 3893. The velocities are obtained from four spectra with a dispersion of 32 Å mm-1 for a spectral range 6450-6800 Å. The velocity field shows an axial symmetry out to 50arcsec from the center. Beyond, a slight difference is visible between the north side and the south one, perhaps due to the proximity of NGC 3896. There is evidence for differential rotation to the most central regions. The mass out to 95arcsec (7.8 kpc) is 3×1010 M_sun;. With a luminosity of 3×1010 L_sun;, the mass-luminosity ratio is 1. A spectrophotometric study is made, in the red using the four previous plates and in the blue using two plates taken with an RCA image tube. The nucleus shows a relatively important intrinsic reddening and the population of young stars is sufficient to supply the observed gas photoionization. For the whole galaxy the excitation is weak, similar to that of low-ionization extragalactic H II regions. The part nearest to NGC 3896 is more excited.
