The influence of free gravitational fields on cosmogonic processes in the expanding universe is examined. It is shown that gravitational waves with a statistically isotropic distribution hinder the development of large-scale instabilities (greater than the characteristic wavelength). At scales below the characteristic wavelength, the fields can stimulate disturbances of the density and velocity of cosmic matter.
