The UV star detected by the Orion 2 observatory onboard Soyuz 13 is located in the proximity of Capella, between the stars SAO 040303 and SAO 040307. The effective temperature of the star is greater than 20,000 K. The energy distribution in the spectrum and the structure of the emission lines differ from those of any known type of star. Particularly prominent are some resonance emission lines (the doublet 2800 Mg II and the quartet 3080 Ti II).
