We discuss how and to which extent UHE cosmic ray and neutrino fluxes from extragalactic sources are related to each other and can be used to apply mutual limits. We put particular emphasis on the ejection of cosmic rays from Fermi-accelerating sources and the effect of cosmological evolution. We show that existing models of blazar neutrino production are not necessarily in conflict with UHE cosmic ray data.
