We present a new Monte-Carlo event generator for photomeson production of relativistic nucleons in thermal and power-law photon fields. Resonance excitation/decay, direct single-pion production, diffractive scattering and multipion production are used to reproduce the full measured cross section. A complete simulation of the multiparticle final states from the photopion production threshold up to very high energies is performed. We show that our event generator SOPHIA can reasonably reproduce all fixed target and collider experimental data available to us.
