As a preliminary step in an investigation of the globular cluster content of nearby galaxies, photoelectric sequences in the UBV system are determined for the South Polar Cap (Sculptor Group) galaxies NGC 55, 247, 253, and 7793. The first three of these are ideal candidates for cluster searches because they are seen edge-on. Attention is also given to a central field around NGC 1399 in the Fornax cluster of galaxies, and finder charts and photometry are presented for 74 stars falling in the range of 7-14.2 mag.
