Cosmological Constant, Galaxy Counts: Cosmology
Scientific paper
Recent observations favor a high value of H0. Introducing a cosmology dominated by a cosmological constant is a major way to solve the age paradox and maintain the universe flat. The authors investigate a cosmology of (h, ΩΛ, ΩM) = (0.8, 0.8, 0.2). They compare the results with observations of high redshift ellipticals, as well as the observations of galactic number counts. Although the data show that the ΩΛ = 0.8 model is more favorable than ΩΛ = 0, the conclusion is not a clear-cut one. They cannot exclude the existence of the standard (0.8, 0, 1) cosmology yet.
