Comets: General, Comets: P/Halley

Scientific paper

We have calculated the time dependent synthetic profile of the
rotational structure of the (2,0) band of the Phillips system of the
C_2_ molecule. These are compared with the high resolution spectra in
the wavelength region 8660 to 8935A of Appenzeller and Muench for comet
P/Halley. Some of these results will be discussed.
