We consider the effects of microscopic electric field, Doppler broadening and radiation damping in the solar atmosphere magnetic field and use the perturbation theory of quantum mechanics to determine the broadening mechanisms and the absorption coefficient of the Hβ line. We then use the VAL quiet chromosphere model to solve the Unno-Beckers equations of radiative transfer for the Hβ line and obtain a numerical solution of the Stokes parameters of this line.
