In the late half of the 19th Century, William and Margaret Huggins worked at Tulse Hill Observatory and contributed to the development of astrophysics, through chemical analysis of stellar atmospheres, discovery of emission-line nebulae, instrumental development of ultraviolet spectrograph and others. The author traced their life and work by visiting the Royal Astronomical Society and the lost place of Tulse Hill Observatory in London, and by reading their memorial book of the Atlas of Representative Stellar Spectra published in 1899.
