The identification of a third red-degraded singlet system of zirconium oxide, now designated as "C", sharing the upper energy level with the already known systems A and B, and with its (0, 0) band head at 4535 Å, and the lower level ωe = 951 cm-1 and χeωe = 4.35 cm-1, is presented. Its lower level lies 5104 cm-1 above the lower level of system A. System A, in particular its (0, 0) band at 3682 Å, has been observed, though faintly, accompanying the three triplet systems, in some late-type stars.
