Several methods for restoring spatial coherence of wave fronts partly destroyed by atmospheric turbulence are described. Speckle interferometry is considered and found to yield good results: the spectral density of several objects such as protostars or extended-envelope stars has been provided. The second approach discussed here is Michelson interferometry or aperture synthesis; it is discussed in terms of figure of merit vs wavelength.
