Using the ISO LWS and SWS gratings we have detected five far-IR rotational transitions of the OH molecule in the starburst galaxy NGC 253. These detections, including all four transitions connecting to the ground state, allow a determination of the OH column density and abundance, and constrain the distributions of molecular gas and warm dust in NGC 253's nuclear starburst. A simple radiative excitation-deexcitation scheme approximately reproduces the observed fluxes in emission and absorption for the 4 optically thin transitions. For the optically thick 119 μm doublet, we have obtained a velocity-resolved profile with the LWS Fabry-Perot, which shows both absorption, and high velocity component in emission, possibly related to a large molecular cloud
