A method is proposed for determining the sign of the radial velocity difference of the components of visual binaries that are unresolved both spatially and spectrally. The idea of this method is to obtain spectra for two positions of a star on the spectrograph list. The ratio of the components' light transmitted by the slit is different, and the displacement of the blended lines yields the sign of the radial velocity difference of the components. The expected displacement of the blended lines is estimated, and the observations are described. The radial velocity difference sign for three visual binary systems - ADS 9617, ADS 10157, and ADS 10598 - is measured, and true ascending modes are determined or confirmed for them.
