The use of outer brightness standards on Lunokhod-2 made it possible to perform a photometric study of lunar soil on the basis of panoramic images of the surrounding region; the measurements were based on fragments of six panoramas, obtained in the southern part of the Lemmonier crater. The data characterize a sampled distribution of lunar soil with different reflectance for two mare regions and one highland region. Albedo values of 4.5-13.5% (in the brightness standard system calibrated with reference to a magnesium screen) were obtained for the soils. The character of the distribution of soils with different albedos makes it possible to conclude that vertical mixing plays a dominant role in the formation of the surface layer.
