The Li-8(n, gamma)Li-9 and B-8(p, gamma)C-9 cross sections are calculated in a microscopic cluster model, taking an exact account of the Pauli principle. The interest for a simultaneous description of the mirror reactions is emphasized, and the reliability of the cross-sections is analyzed through the calculation of some experimentally known Li-9 and C-9 spectroscopic properties. The theoretical reaction rates are found lower than the currently accepted values. Consequences for cosmological nucleosynthesis are briefly discussed.
