In this review we discuss different aspects of the dynamical evolution of the LMC disk, among them the internal perturbation due to the bar as well as that due to the Milky Way and the SMC. New results on the disk viewing angle and intrinsic shape are compared to the traditionally accepted ones. Due to its importance for the disk stability the LMC halo is also discussed. We also address the problem of the stellar population and the star formation in disk fields and stellar clusters, with special emphasis in the age gap between intermediate age star clusters and genuine old ones.
