The visible spectrum of the point-like source with infrared excess CPD - 52 deg 9243 is identified; emission and absorption line strengths are given together with various ion velocities of P Cygni profiles; a strong polarization is detected, equal to about 5 percent and 36 deg. From stellar and interstellar features, a spectral type around B 8 Ia and a distance of about 3.1 kpc are derived.
